Education helps prevent human trafficking. And human trafficking is one of the largest global industries. 100% for Children's efforts lie in working with the group of children and young people who are at risk of becoming victims of trafficking. These are especially street children.<\/p>\n

Many street children are already invisible to governments. They do not vote in political elections and are not recognised as people with rights. It's also a problem that many children and young people are not recognised as victims of human trafficking and therefore do not get access to the help they need.<\/p>\n

Children and young people living on the streets must provide food, shelter and work for themselves. They are therefore particularly vulnerable to being lured by the empty promises of human trafficking.<\/p>\n

Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) is currently focusing on human trafficking - both in Kenya and Ghana, where we are working on prevention through education. We are doing this especially around the Kibarani dumpsite (Kenya), urban slums in Nairobi and Mlolongo (Kenya) and around the Agbogbloshie dumpsite in Accra (Ghana).<\/p>\n
