Through an EU-funded project, we have published a photo book and educational material.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>

We have collaborated with the publisher Disko Bay<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0University College Copenhagen<\/a> about breaking down prejudices about street children and migration in the project.<\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div>

100% for the Children had applied for funding for a new project - and we got it! So we published a photo book across the country, which also served as teaching material for social work students and lecturers at Copenhagen University College.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t

The photobook POSITION<\/span><\/h2>
\r\n\t\t\t

POSITION was a contribution to changing the stereotypical narrative of children in a marginalised situation. The children in the book lived on the streets, in the market, in a bus station, in a rubbish dump and in simple shacks in Accra, Ghana. They were poor, many of them had only basic or no schooling, and the majority had lost at least one parent or had been thrown out of home. But all 15 children saw themselves as capable people with resources, skills, ambitions and strong values.<\/p>\n

The book was created in collaboration with the children. They had chosen where they wanted to be photographed, and in preparing the book they had discussed their own conditions, challenges and opportunities and how they relate to the SDGs, focusing on the consistently different situations of girls and boys and the fact that almost all of them were migrants. They had travelled from villages or all the way from neighbouring Togo to Ghana's capital to find work, earn money and finance their schooling. The children's migration stories were on the last pages of the book.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div><\/div>

A different kind of material for teaching<\/span><\/h2>
\r\n\t\t\t

POSITION - an exercise booklet on involvement, reframing and the Global Goals must not only convey the Global Goals, but also provide some specific tools for how you as a social worker can challenge negative images of homeless children and young people, and thus involve your target groups as active agents of change. The exercise booklet can be borrowed from the Copenhagen University College's libraries or downloaded directly from here: POSITION exercise booklet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We have also created an SDG network for all social workers and students in Copenhagen on Facebook. The group is called 'SDG network for social workers and students<\/a>'. Here, together with volunteer social work students, we have shared news about the booklet and knowledge and events related to the SDGs.
